Included chapel at Hanley Child. Hanley Child, sometimes called 'Lower Hanley', was a separate Civil Parish in 1866. Ecclesiastically severed in 1909 & united with area Hanley William in the same parish to create Hanley William with Hanley Child Ecclesiastical Parish. Included a chapel at Orleton, which was a separate Civil Parish in 1866. This parish ecclesiastically 'Eastham with Orleton' until the chapel ecclesiastically severed in 1923 to help create Stanford on Teme with Orleton Ecclesiastical Parish, the parish named 'Eastham' thereafter. [25]

Hanley Child (or Lower Hanley) is a chapelry, 3 miles S.W. from Eastham and 5 south from Newnham Bridge. Oreleton is a chapelry, 3 miles east from Eastham. [57]

An extract from the Topographical Dictionary of England by Samuel Lewis 1831:

EASTHAM, a parish in the upper division of the hundred of DODDINGTREE, county of WORCESTER, 4¼ miles (E.) from Tenbury, comprising the chapelries of Child-Hanley and Orleton, and containing 677 inhabitants. The living is a rectory with that of Hanley-William, in the archdeaconry of Salop, and diocese of Hereford, rated in the king's books at £28. 15. 10. The church, dedicated to St. Peter and St. Paul, has lately received an addition of eighty free sittings, the Incorporated Society for the enlargement of churches and chapels having granted £40 towards defraying the expense.
