Extra-parochial place, ecclesiastically & sometimes civilly called 'Dudley Castle Hill'. A separate Civil Parish in 1858. Abolished ecclesiastically in 1931 entirely to Dudley St Edmund Parish. Although in Dudley Municipal Borough in 1865-89, it was excluded from the County Borough & in Staffordshire until abolished civilly in 1929 entirely to Dudley County Borough (associated with Worcestershire) & Dudley (St Thomas) Ancient Parish.
